Stellies’ Benadie working on solution with Israeli-club for Faiz

Stellenbosch FC CEO Rob Benadie (pictured) has confirmed that he is working on a solution to get attacker Faiz Abrahams out of his loan contract.

The 20-year-old Afcon Cup winner with the u.20 SA National team, has been at the centre of controversy following his 12-month loan move to the Israeli Second Division club Kafr Saba in July last year.

“Yes, I am but it’s in the hands largely of the loan club,” Benadie shared with No Bones with Jones

This is the latest development after Abrahams broke his silence to No Bones with Jones recently about his controversial overseas move to Israel.

Our website understands that Abrahams met up with Benadie during the week to discuss his future with the expectation that sanity will prevail.

Abrahams’ move was obviously driven by money, but the reality of being isolated in a foreign country, coupled with the (political) risks and pressures, soon started to take its toll on the young Valhalla Park-born player.

He felt lonely, isolated without any real support system to help him adjust off the field as well.

Abrahams, who was not selected for the world cup squad last year which was very strange, returned home in mid-November last year after making an immediate impact with four goals and three assists in 10 games for his new Israeli club.

He had to report back at the end of November, but It subsequently emerged that the former Cape Town Spurs player felt unsafe in Israel and decided not to go back despite several requests from Kafr Saba for Abrahams to return to honour his contract.
