Sea Point Swifts AFC is back in the Second Division after an absence of nearly three decades.
No Bones with Jones can confirm that a local and very successful businessman, whose name is known to our website, is on a mission to invest heavily in the 105-year-old Swifts after he acquired the ABC Motsepe League Second Division status of Oriented Birds from Plettenberg Bay recently.
No Bones with Jones can further confirm that former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Keagan Buchanan (pictured) has been appointed as the man behind the wheel, along with the well-travelled and experienced Dylan Dean and Clayton Daniels, as the head coach and assistant respectively.
Swifts’ Chairman Wayne Weitz confirmed the news to our website.
“This is not just a great opportunity for us as a club, but the whole of Metropolitan and the broader Bonteheuwel community,” said Weitz.
Our website understands that the investor is keen on bringing back the glory days and restoring the credibility of one of the oldest clubs in the province. Players like Dicky Benjamin, Richard Morgan (both late), William Anderson, Kevin Valentine, Clive Carollisen and others once wore the maroon and sky blue of the mighty Swifts with great pride and success!
