If there was ever a time for ALL the ABC Motsepe League Second Division clubs to be a united front, then it is now!
Especially those clubs and coaches who acted cowardly and did not stand up to fight the good fight, but were quick to congratulate Santos FC after an Arbitrator ruled in favour of The People’s Team to be reinstated – now is their opportunity to show they are not sissies!
So, with this in mind, Safa Western Cape announced recently that it will finally engage with all the Motsepe League clubs at the Lentelus Sports Ground on 20 December 2025.
According to the province, the main item on the agenda is feedback and updates on the Nedbank Cup after Santos FC was reinstated in the league following an Arbitrator’s award. The province further indicates that only two delegates per club are allowed to be present at the meeting.
Now, history has shown in this league that it does not matter how many delegates present, if the mindset and intention they harbour is not 100 % committed to the cause, and where an injury to one is an injury to all, then rather stay at home.
No Bones with Jones has already received some welcoming messages, which indicates that this time round, clubs are prepared to go as a united voice and will not be deterred, as Santos’ so-called ‘solo’ victory after their battle with the province has sparked new vigour and belief among the rest.
This is also an appeal to the Motsepe League clubs to ‘For the love of the game’, put the differences and egos aside as this is much bigger than Santos and affects everyone. So, it;s time to show their togetherness and for Ubuntu to reign supreme.
On a final note, let’s hope this will not be a repeat of the previous season, where it’s all bark and no bite, which is also the reason why Safa WC has managed to get away with murder as they exploited the lack of unity and solidarity amongst the Motsepe clubs in the Western Cape.
