FN Rangers have emphasized their dominance in the ABC Motsepe League by winning their Stream A with two games remaining against Royal Blues (home) and Santos FC (away).
Rangers beat Young Bafana 3-1 in Strand over the weekend to clinch their Stream (A) and progress to their second playoff final in four seasons in the Second Division.
This two-legged final is scheduled for 11 and 18 May on a home and away basis.
Rangers’ coach Arreshaat Daniels has warned that they have achieved nothing yet and will not get ahead of themselves.
‘Saatjie’ as Daniels is affectionately known, has shared some of the valuable lessons learnt during his tenure as head coach of Rangers.
“I think the most important aspect for us is never to underestimate any opposition,” Daniels told No Bones with Jones. “Also, to obtain enough info on the opposition and to plan accordingly, you know. “History has also taught me to take nothing for granted and remain humble and believe in the process,” Daniels added.
The Maitland-based outfit is now waiting patiently and watching with a keen eye as to who they will face in the Western Cape playoff final with Stream B still undecided between log leaders Grassy Park United (31 points) and Clarewood JPM (30). The latter has however played a game less than GP.
Coach Mangaliso Ntombana’s United outfit hosts Oriented Birds in their last fixture of the season while Dylan Deane’s (coach) Clarewood have overcome the Maties FC this weekend at Parow Park in their penultimate match followed by Cape Town Spurs to round off their campaign.
The winner of the playoff final will represent the province at the National First Division playoff to be held from 3 to 9 June in Upington.
