The jury is still out on whether Safa Cape Town should write off its debt, or not!
It has emerged that the region requires additional time and this decision will be made in August, much to the dismay of some of the Regional Executive Committee (REC) members who felt the meeting on Sunday at the Samaj Centre in Rylands was a complete waste of time.
“If referring to the outstanding registration money…the information we are getting… everything is not there so it’s difficult to make a decision hence they have been tasked to go back again and come with more information,” one of the members speaking under anonymity told No Bones with Jones.
“People were invoiced for stuff which wasn’t for registrations and was for other stuff which they should be credited for. Some overpaid and were not credited. So, ya, all that stuff needs to be sorted out first before you can get to a true figure as to where you sit with registrations,” the source added.
It is alleged that a lot of the region’s inadequacies are now pinned on its suspended treasurer Wayne Weitz who is currently in a DC process with his former employer.
“Look, it’s a matter of getting the right information and stuff like that. But I feel this exercise was a complete waste of time,” the source concluded.
