Everything is not always as it appears to the naked eye…
Hence, Safa Cape Town is desperately trying to smoke out someone with sand on his or her face – as the starry-eyed powers that be are convinced there is a mole in its midst leaking information to No Bones with Jones and other less-threatening media.
The ‘Trust No-Mancom’ held its meeting at the Rygersdal Sports Complex on Monday night and it is pretty clear that the footballing Mother Body – with fingers pointing in all directions – is trying to get “the mole” to come out of its hole and score an own goal by baring its soul.
This along with another hot topic of debate, as to who will host the Finals of the Engen Knockout Challenge which was ‘taken’ away from Wanderers FC from the Langa LFA, was discussed at the meeting.
Another interesting topic on the agenda was that of the proposed new stream for the Third Division as there have been talks in the past that the gap between the LFA structures and the Regional Third Division is too big – and perhaps with another stream or competition, it could significantly help with the development of amateur football.
Last but not least, murmurs of a vote of no confidence in Safa Cape Town’s treasurer, Wayne Weitz (pictured), surfaced once more which left the Metropolitan LFA president fuming and unimpressed to say the least.
Most LFA’s are preparing for the start of their seasons and only time will tell what the future holds with regards to these hot topics.
With all said and done, and everything the region has on its plate, perhaps it should be considered to have regular meetings and not such lengthy periods in between them as it will definitely have a knock-on effect which could snowball into something much bigger and perhaps too complicated to resolve.
And in the meantime. . . the mole remains snuggled away in its hole!
