Safa Western Cape Chairman Tankiso Modipa waived his right to shed some light on a recent statement from the South African Football Clubs Association (SAFOCA) pertaining to the travelling monies owed to ABC Motsepe League Second Division clubs.
No Bones with Jones reached out to the provincial football boss who chose not to reply. The outstanding monies owed to clubs has been a contentious affair and has been coming on for a very long time. What boggles the mind is that there is no accountability.
Our website was informed that the sponsor’s owner Dr Patrice Motsepe always pays on time but why there has been no inquest into this remains a mystery.
Well, according to SAFOCA’s Facebook post the prize monies and travel subsidies that were delayed due to previous cash flow challenges, will now be settled.
SAFAOCA’s stated that they “are pleased to announce a significant breakthrough in its advocacy efforts.
“The South African Football Association (SAFA) has made a commitment to settle outstanding travelling allowances for ABC Motsepe League teams. Payment of outstanding allowances for the first and second rounds, as well as the first half of the season. The remaining balance will be settled by the end of February,” it further confirmed.
According to the release the provincial secretaries are” busy loading the clubs’ payments,” the release read.
