Hope FC in process of pulling off massive coup with Patosi acquisition

The ABC Motsepe Second Division newbie Hope FC has flexed its financial muscle and is in the process of pulling off what could arguably be deemed as the coup of the century.

No Bones with Jones can confirm that Hope FC is busy finalising a deal with the 32-year-old former Bafana Bafana winger, Ayanda Patosi (pictured).

Patosi, who is currently training with the Second Division debutant, will reunite with his former Cape Town City teammate Craig Martin, who was given the captain’s armband for their debut season.

Patosi last featured competitively for the Iranian club Foolad Khuzestan where he spent two seasons on loan.

The diminutive figure is also well known and loved amongst the Cape Town football public after spending three seasons on the books of Cape Town City in the PSL under the tutelage of coach Benni McCarthy.

Patosi subsequently had three loan spells abroad with Esteghlal in the Persian Gulf Pro League, as well as Baniyas from Abu Dhabi.

Patosi made 12 appearances for Bafana Bafana between 2013 and 2016

Meanwhile, Patosi’s new club Hope FC, could not have asked for a better start to their debut campaign in the Second Division when they walloped Maties FC 4-0 during a Nedbank Cup Preliminary round clash at Erica Park on Saturday afternoon.
