Faiz completes medical with Stellies as club’s CEO Benadie confirms Amajita star’s issue with Israeli club resolved

Thank goodness sanity prevailed and order was restored!

This comes after Stellenbosch FC CEO Rob Benadie admitted he is rather relieved that the issue between their Amajita-star, Faiz Abrahams (pictured) and the Israeli Second Division Club Hapoel Kafr Saba, has finally been resolved.

“I am, as it was a very poor situation Faiz put himself in, risking his career, actually,”  Benadie acknowledged to No Bones with Jones. “The clubs have managed to find an amicable solution to bring him back to his parent club. I hope and trust that he will learn and grow as a person from this experience,” the Stellies CEO added.

Meanwhile, No Bones with Jones also understands that the 20-year-old Afcon winner already underwent his medical on Wednesday at Stellies with the expectation of cementing down a place in coach Gavin Hunt’s squad.

“Registration hopefully will be successful today with PSL,” Benadie concluded.

And, just as Benadie and Stellies “hope and trust” that Abrahams has learnt valuable lessons out of this ordeal, so, too, the community does one hope and trust that the Stellies CEO, as well as the broader (football) community, has come to realize that sending any South African football player to Israel will ultimately benefit no one!

Abrahams was loaned out for 12 months to Hapoel Saba but only featured for 10 games (4 goals, 2 assists) before he returned home for a break in November last year and never reported back for duty, citing reasons of fear for his safety and lack of support given the political tensions and ongoing genocide by Israel in Palestine.
