Cubs going digital with ‘new’ partner keen on backing biggest Youth Festival

The draw for the 2026 Spar Mookrey Group Rygate Cubs concluded at the Rylands Civic Centre on Wednesday – and there were two very positive aspects which indicates that the organisers do go the extra mile to better the event

The first and more visible addition is the introduction of the WhatsApp group with the participating clubs and its respective representatives where the full draw can be accessed and shared.

Needless to say, there was a sense of order and calmness which is also the effect of the online draw system nullifying the unnecessary back and forth – this clearly speaks that the two-way communication flow and that the Cubs’ LOC are listening to the public.

This platform will be used during the duration of the event which starts from 22- 26 September and coincide with the school holidays at the Johnson Road Sport Complex in Rylands.

Of course, there is also a responsibility and onus on the clubs and coaches as well to ensure that the necessary protocols are adhered to.

The second bit of welcoming news is still under wraps for now as the Tournament Director, Abdul Tajoodien explains: “Let’s just all be revealed soon and it is a familiar partner of the Cubs and we are delighted that sanity prevailed,” Tajoodien concluded.

The launch, which will be the final formality before the festival kicks off, will take place next at the Rylands Civic Centre.
