No Bones with Jones can confirm that Chrissando de Weber (pictured) has signed with Wynberg St. Johns (WSJ), after initially exploring his options at Premier United’s Downberg Road base.
The former Junction Rovers coach in the Motsepe League succeeds Gareth Ncaca, stepping into a role that offers both surprise and opportunity.
De Weber has long spoken about his desire for a fresh challenge, and this move represents exactly that.
He will be assisted by Enver Solomons, with Heiny Gradwell appointed as General Manager. The club is expected to announce its new goalkeeper coach soon.
WSJ, who purchased Antalyaspor’s Third Division status last season, will now operate independently with full carte blanche.
Their debut campaign proved fruitful, with the collaboration yielding success for Antalyaspor’s youth side, who lifted the Bayhill Premier Cup, Engen Cup, Super Cup, and the inaugural Mitchells Plain Youth Cup.
With WSJ now charting their own course, the pressure will be on De Weber to deliver results and build on last season’s momentum when they finished 9th in their debut campaign.
