With five goals in four matches, Peter-Wade Fish has emerged as the driving force behind Hanover Park FC’s impressive start to the season, helping the club climb to the top of the table with three wins from their opening four fixtures.
The 26-year-old striker has been directly responsible for almost half of Hanover Park’s 13 goals, as the side has combined attacking firepower with defensive solidity, conceding just twice so far – ensuring that he is one of the first names on the list for head coach, Bradley Barnes who has been a revelation since taking over the reins from Anwar Gallant.
Now in his third season with the Brasse Vannie Park outfit as Hanover Park is called, Fish has continued to prove his value to the Brasse Vannie Park, as Hanover Park FC is called.
During his debut campaign after joining from Santos FC, Fish found the net five times, before following that up with seven goals the following season and countless assists – despite often being used as an impact player from the bench.
This season, however, Fish has been on fire and hooked his game to another level, leading the line with confidence and delivering crucial goals as Hanover Park sets the early pace.
With Fish finding the net for fun and Hanover Park firing on all cylinders, the early signs suggest both player and club could be in for a memorable campaign after they have already bagged the Knockout title at the Cape Town Tygerberg LFA.
Much of this also due to Barnes who has found a winning formula with the young guns at the club.
