The ABC Motsepe Second Division newbie Junction Rovers can breathe a sigh of relief with news of a big partnership on the horizon.
No Bones with Jones has been informed that Junction is currently in negotiations with Nova Nacional and is expected to conclude the deal within the coming days.
Expectations are that Nova, who currently plays its football at the Cape Town Tygerberg LFA, will strengthen the Junction club not only on the playing field but also a cash injection to ensure the longevity of the Motsepe franchise.
The newly promoted Junction has already been weakened by Ikapa United raiding more than three of its stalwarts with financial offers – something Junction could not really provide to some of its seniors and regular starters.
Our website believes that the deal for now would just be the exchanging of players between the two clubs, but it is the community-based appeal with Junction’s rich history and passionate, loyal supporters, that is too enticing for the ‘Blue Diamonds’ as Nova is known, to pass by.
Details regarding the nitty gritty are still sketchy at this stage, but it is a given that the partnership will materialize. This will also afford the young talent of Nova to be able to compete on a higher level.
It will also interesting to see where coach Andrew Laytile from Nova will fit in the equation given Junction’s number one Chrissando de Weber has a tried and tested technical team.
