Rygersdal ready to ruffle feathers at Bayhill Spectacle

It’s fair to say that Rygersdal FC has gradually increased its footprint and ensured the club becomes a household name at the prestigious u.19 Bayhill Premier Cup.

This comes after the Cape Town Tygerberg LFA club secured a third successive qualification for the Easter Spectacle to be hosted at the Erica Park Sports Complex in Belhar.

It’s pretty clear that the club, based in Rondebosch, is eager to progress further than the quarterfinal they reached last year when they were beaten by Cape Town City FC.

This is largely due to the fact that they have roped in another household figure in Ashraf Calvert – one of the most successful and qualified coaches on the local front.

Calvert’s track record speaks for itself and therefore has potentially increased the odds for the LFA side to give the more influential academies a run for their money.

In fact, Calvert, an individual who usually does his talking on the field, is so confident and buoyed by their prospects that he has put his neck on the line saying that he is ready to ruffle feathers.

“Look, I don’t want to be cocky and say that we are going to conquer Bayhill, but we stand a good chance of surprising a few teams,” Calvert told No Bones with Jones.

“The boys have been doing well so far and they deserve to be at the event. One never knows with a tournament as anything can happen on the day, So, we are going to give it our all and it boils down to who wants it the most,” Calvert added.

The Rygersdal tactician will be supported by his lieutenants like Karl Ronnie, Kashief Trumper and Katleho Moleko.
