Safa CT to convene in coming days to discuss its debt

All eyes will be on Safa Cape Town when they convene on 13 April to further discuss or possibly finalise the “significant debate” around the proposed debt write-off.

The region’s financial affairs were high on the agenda during the annual congress, led by President Bennett Bailey alongside General Secretary Reyaad Joseph, as well as the SAFA CT Mancom and Regional Executive Committee, two months ago in February.

The Cape’s football Mother body divulged this in their press release after the congress. The release further stated that one of the primary topics under discussion was the Annual Audited Financial Report 2023/’24 which was unanimously accepted by Congress.

It further went on to say that after extensive discussions, it was resolved and that a detailed report would be presented within 30 days. However, it has been way longer than that now.

The report will outline the specifics of the bad debt and provide a clear motivation for whether the write-off should be approved or rejected.
