Hope FC’s latest acquisition Tauriq Gamildien (pictured) has expressed his delight following his move from Stellenbosch FC where he played in the Multi Diski side.
Gamildien becomes Hope’s sixth signing after they scooped up Selwyn Steven, Tyler Cicero, Lyle Lakay, Brandon Theron and Giovanni Philander following their promotion in their debut season in the ABC Motsepe League to the Motsepe Championship’s First Division.
Gamildien, a product from Matroosfontein FC at the Northern Suburbs LFA, will now get the opportunity to showcase his goal scoring prowess he displayed for Matroos in the Third Division a couple of seasons ago – as well as for Stellies’ Diski-side where he ended up as the second highest scorer with 16 goals – in the professional ranks as well.
“I’m just happy to finally sign my first professional contract,” Gamildien revealed to No Bones with Jones. “I’m excited to start this new journey and take my game to the next level,” he added.
Gamildien now joins his older brother, Ruzaigh, who has played a pivotal role in their promotion success. According to Tauric it will be a proud moment to share the field with his brother.
“Yeah, I’m happy,” Gamildien added. “Now is my chance and I must grab it with both hands,” he concluded.
