Uncertainty, drama and confusion persist in Motsepe League as Santos off fixture list, court case continues

Just because Safa Western Cape’s ABC Motsepe League has started in all earnest, certainly does not mean that it’s now all smooth and plain sailing – Aikona!

In fact, clubs could still be in for a bumpy ride as No Bones with Jones has gathered that Santos, who has been embroiled in a court battle with the province, has been completely scrapped from the fixture list, which is another indication of the custodian’s blatant disregard for the judicial process and the rules of the game.

Needless to say, this automatically affects proceedings as to how many teams get promoted or relegated.

Furthermore, No Bones with Jones can confirm that the majority of the participating 23 clubs have not received the uniform rules, which is a clear guideline as to how matters should be conducted, from the province itself.

Our website reached out to a few club owners, who all confirmed that they have not yet received the uniform rules for this season.

Diadora’s chairman, Shaheed Abrahams, confirmed to No Bones with Jones: “No, we are still waiting on the uniform rules.”

Seaside Spurs’ Earl Cloete had this to say: “They didn’t send anything,” said Cloete informed our website. “Right now, the province has it as three (relegated) and two (promoted).”

Hanover Park FC’s Rieduwaan Anthony shared the same sentiment. “No rules received, trouble is looming again,” Anthony added.

Maties FC head coach, Desmond Crowie, also confirmed that nothing was forthcoming. “Nobody here received anything as yet, not according to my knowledge,” Crowie added.

Hope FC’s owner, Marlon Parker, also weighed in: “As far as I know, we are still awaiting the uniform rules for the new season, but he (Keagan Buchanan) will be able to confirm,” Parker stated.

Meanwhile, the Cape High Court is expected to make a ruling on Monday when Judge Pather resumes the case between Safa WC and Santos.

The People’s Team chairman, Goolam Allie, has been resolute and unwavering in his quest for justice – not just for the club itself but the broader football public!
