The Sport Stepping Stones (SSS) have escalated their dispute with Safa Cape Town, filing a High Court case over the alleged disappearance of funds raised through the Football for Humanity Initiative in February 2024.
The matter is formally registered under case number 2026-040010. Below is a timeline of how events unfolded thus far.
From February 2024 to June 2024
Sport For Humanity Director Boebie Cassiem reached out to Safa CT President, Bennett Bailey, without any luck

SSS wrote to Safa CT requesting financial statements without any response
13/02/2025
SSS send first legal correspondence to Safa CT via Bawa Abrahams & Associates without any response
11/09/2025
Sent letters of demand to SAFA CT and to the president without any response again
23/02/2026
Initial filing of papers to High Court. SSS was prepared for mediation, however, Safa CT did not accept.
26/02/2026
No mediation… Saffa CT failed to submit their plea documents
27/03/2026
SSS submitted Notice of Bar
07/04/2026
Safa CT and Bailey submitted a plea to the High Court Now and SSS is waiting on a date
Meanwhile, Noore Nacerodien, also a director, says the issue has been dragging on for too long and now is the time to roll up sleeves.
“There are already questions hanging over Safa CT exorbitant expenditures on legal costs and one wonders who is paying the president’s costs? The members again? Or is it fake news?” Nacerodien concluded.
