Damian Hegg (pictured), co-owner of the Eagle Performance Academy (EPA) has now finally set the record straight regarding his desire to attain a Second Division franchise in Safa Cape Town.
Rumours have been rife that the Third Division outfit Fleetwood FC from Overberg will gain promotion after they acquired the ABC Motsepe franchise of Ukhanya United – and that they will play under the EPA banner. These rumours could however not be independently verified.
Hegg has refuted these claims and confirmed that the EPA, which has been in existence for more than 2 decades and is based in Somerset-West, has no links or connections to Fleetwood, nor did they purchase any Motsepe franchise, yet.
“We are looking to be in the Motsepe League, and we are hopeful that we can conclude and communicate. There is a lot of speculation and therefore I don’t want to say or comment on something which is not the case,” said the Swiss-born Hegg.
Hegg also confirmed that his team has not made an application to join up with the Rygate LFA.
