Something is brewing at The Magic Ladies FC with potential changes in the coaching department on the horizon.
No Bones with Jones has reliably learnt that the club’s head coach George Dearnaley will in all likelihood step down and be replaced with Winston Zeederberg (pictured) for the upcoming season.
Zeederberg met with the club’s hierarchy a couple of weeks ago to discuss the way forward with the Sasol League side following a successful debut season with the girls’ LFA where they won the League, Knockout, Super Cup and the Stanturf Cup of Dreams Ladies tournament.
It has now emerged that the club is keen on promoting Zeederberg to the senior side to help them get to the next level.
Needless to say, Zeederberg is no stranger to the Sasol League after having coached at Spurs Ladies where he won the league title once and ended up runners-up in the Coke Cup on two occasions.
It is clear that The Magic holds Zeederberg in high regard, after all they lured him to their De Mist homeground last season where he had immediate impact.
Footballwise, Dearnaley has always been a good judge of character and it is clear that he sees Zeederberg as the perfect coach to lead the club to the promised land of the Hollywood Bets Super League.
Meanwhile, ‘Gentleman George’ as Dearnaley is also called will still play an active part in the club where he will develop and upskill the coaches.
