Young Bafana big boss Bernardo Steino waived his right to comment following the axing of their ABC Motsepe League head coach Bradley Barnes (pictured).
No Bones with Jones reached out to Steinado after our website was informed that Barnes had been shown the door. This comes off the back of a very poor showing in the league thus far this season with 10 points from nine matches and flirting with relegation early on in Stream A.
Barnes cannot say that he wasn’t aware that the writing was on the wall for him after the head coach position clearly exposed his inexperience and frailties at this level – especially keeping in mind that he barely saved their status last season.
The 2022/23 Second Division champions also raised eyebrows last season when they appointed Barnes as successor to Carlos “The Black Mourinho” Manuel who himself lasted only a couple of months.
This follows after Barnes was demoted from the HOD of Youth only to be promoted to the head coach of the senior team – well, clearly this move backfired leaving the Strand-based club in search of a fifth coach in so many seasons.
