The ‘Goalgate’ scandal has taken another unexpected twist.
This comes after Safa Cape Town president Bennett Bailey confirmed to No Bones with Jones that they have summoned Reginald Rorich (pictured), president of Westridge FC, following his accusations made on Facebook regarding alleged bribery and corruption in matches in the Third Division play-offs.
Rorich claimed that he had first-hand witnessed corruption taking place with “brown envelopes” exchanging hands during the playoffs at William Herbert Sports Complex a couple of weeks ago.
Therefore, Rorich has been ordered by the region to clarify his comments and divulge what he knows about the alleged bribery.
“Yes, we have summoned him only and he will appear next Tuesday (7 December),” Bailey confirmed. “He will have to come and explain.”
Our website has also established that a Disciplinary Committee meeting (DC) was held on Wednesday (29 November) whereby the coach of Two for Joy, Sandile Nongauza, was probed about his clubs alledged involvement in this scandal.
Bailey did not divulge any details regarding the DC, but our website was informed by a reliable source that Nongauza admitted that the comments he made on Metro FM were indeed his comments.
“He said it was said out of frustration,” the source told No Bones with Jones. “But he also offered to apologize on any platform to withdraw these comments,” the source said.
