Ikapa Sporting captain Adeeb Triegaardt says they are bracing themselves for “war” when they visit FN Rangers at the Royal Road Sports Field in Maitland on Saturday.
This battle between two of the undefeated teams and potential league challengers in Stream A kicks off at 15:00.
“It’s going to be a big one,” Triegaardt told No Bones with Jones. “But it’s going to be a good one which I’m looking forward to. We are ready for war but it won’t be easy for both teams.
“It’s going to be an encounter where the team who makes the least mistakes and takes their chances, will come up trumps. But it’s going to be a fierce battle,” said the Ikapa skipper.
According to Triegaardt they will be looking to expose any weakness in coach Arreshaat Daniels’ Rangers outfit and to humble them in their own backyard – just as they did in the last game of the season during the previous campaign.
“I am sure this defeat will be fresh in the minds of both camps,” Triegaardt further stated. “We know they will be looking to get one over us. However, we also know we have what it takes to beat them at their home ground and it can be done again.”
Meanwhile, our website can confirm that Chad Robertson will again stand-in as captain for the injured Shane van der Westhuizen who injured his eye during their 2-1 victory against Hanover Park FC last week in Hanover Park.
Robertson was rather cagey when he was probed on their prospects against Ikapa adding: “I don’t talk football off the field,” he said. “I prefer to do the talking on the field,” Robertson concluded.
