August opens up on why Garlandale at LFA level

The former Bafana Bafana player Bradley August has opened up as to why he decided to invest his time in Garlandale FC at LFA level.

Garlandale, the newbie at the Cape Town Tygerberg Football Association this season, yesterday announced that August was roped in to transform the club into a formiddle force as well as to fast track the quest for success of this ambitious club lead of Yusuf Naceroedien.

August was present at his new club over the weekend but could not feature on the team sheet as he is still tied up with the Hollywoodbets Third Division outfit Crystal Palace.

“Look, what usually happens is when the Motsepe or the Castle league is done I go on a little bit of a break and I have never been really involved in local (LFA),” August explained to No Bones with Jones.

“What excites me is the vision of the club, you know. They have moved to Cape Town Tygerberg recently and I have never coached or worked there before and that excites me.

“Another aspect is the fact that the club has its own clubhouse and training facilities and not a lot of clubs can say they have that, you know. It is also not far from where I stay so there are a lot of factors that convinced me that this is the right project.

“Besides, the club’s chairman has big plans for the club and I want to be part of that and create new history and leave behind a legacy that they can be proud of,” the 45-year-old mentor added.

August, who has an impressive and successful track record on the amateur front, is currently ending his season with the Hollywoodbets Third Division outfit Crystal Palace who have a mathematical chance of winning the league should their rival slip up of course.
