Chippa United have snapped up FN Rangers’ wizard winger Giovanni Philander (pictured) following his dazzling display at the ABC Motsepe League playoffs in Upington last month.
No Bones with Jones can divulge that the Chilli Boyz have beaten Orlando Pirates and Sekhukhune United for the 24-year-old’s signature.
A source close to Chippa confirmed the news to our website: “It’s official, but details are still sketchy as he just signed,” the source told No Bones with Jones.
“But we are very happy that he will get his opportunity with Chippa as we have seen what he can do.”
Making the step up from amateur level to the pro ranks should be an easy transition for Philander given his ability and talent.
Alot will also depend on how badly Gio, as Philander is commonly known, wants it. Knowing what the former Saxon Rovers attacker can do and have done already, expect him to set the PSL alight.
Needless to say that it will then just be a matter of time before one of the Glamour clubs of SA football will come knocking.
And with the PSL that is broadcasted globally the whole world will be able to catch a glimpse of Philander’s talent.
