The Langa Stadium, situated in the township of Langa has become in high demand in recent years to host various high-profile footballing events.
From the Engen Knockout Challenge to the Bayhill Premier Cup qualifiers hosted in 2023 after the initial host venue, the William Herbert hosted another play-off event.
No Bones with Jones has also been informed that there are some major happenings in the pipeline that will further add to their prestige of this well maintained sport venue.
But for now, another opportunity to host the Bayhill Premier Cup qualifiers has been afforded to them because of their due diligence and successful events in the past.
It goes without saying that Zolisa Tungwana (pictured), president of the Langa LFA, cannot contain his excitement and optimism ahead of the qualifiers this weekend.
“The fact that we are given an opportunity yet again to host events like this again is an indication that we have what it takes to host successful events,” Tungwana stated to No Bones with Jones. “Therefore, I am very excited as this is massive for us.” he added.
“I mean this is probably the biggest event in the world and we are playing a part in it by hosting the best talent in the Western Cape. It also brings people from all walks of life together and this is the beauty of football, you know,” he added.
Meanwhile, the tournament director Rayaan Allie said they are thrilled to have secured Langa Sports Complex for phase 4 of the BPC2025 play-offs.
“The (Langa) facility management committee has been extremely helpful in aiding the process and they are also eager for us to return,” Allie stated to No Bones with Jones: “We last hosted play-offs in Langa for BPC 2023 and it is always our intention to get the tournament into our communities.
“It makes our event more accessible for those who would otherwise not be able to attend, and it also helps to entrench the BPC brand in areas where the majorities play football. This isn’t always possible due to the conditions of the facilities and other events taking place at the same time.
“The BPC LOC has in the past, utilized venues in Manenberg, Khayelitsha, Matroosfontein, Mitchells Plain and more in lure of getting the event into the communities.
“This will remain the status quo as we continue to grow the BPC brand. The Premier Cup is for the people and we are duty bound to give as many of our followers access to it,” Allie concluded.
