UCT soccer boss mum on Morris’ future after his no-show at training match

UCT Ladies, the Hollywood Bets Super League newcomer, has been stealing the headline of late for both the right and wrong reasons.

This comes after their Head of Football Ahmed Parker (pictured back left along with his assistant, Shaqeel) was rather cagey in confirming or denying that they have parted ways with their head coach Nasief Morris – before the season even officially started.

The irony is that Parker confirmed his goalkeeper Mark Kapman’s absence for their training match against Badgers FC at the Kopano Astroturf at the University of Cape Town on Saturday, but not that of Morris which was rather odd seeing it as his head coach.

“Kappies had a family emergency and Morris….,” said Parker who was barking out the orders on the touchline while with his assistant Shaqeel Williams in close attendance. ”I don’t have anything to say as you are here to see for yourself,” he added.

Furthermore, Morris’ absence and Parker’s sudden silence after their training match against Badgers FC at the Kopano Astroturf at the University of Cape Town on Saturday, are all indications that the Morris and UCT Ladies have separated.

Our website reached out to Morris who in a way confirmed he is no longer with the club: “No, I don’t think I am the coach anymore but check with Parker,” Morris stated to No Bones with Jones.
“I believe they are having a meeting on Monday, I’m not sure,” Morris concluded.
