It appears that the saying ‘out of sight, out of mind’ does not apply to the controversial striker Ameen Awaldien (pictured).
Despite “Zlatan’ being suspended for six weeks by the Rygate LFA for contravening the LFA’s social media policy, Awaldien is ironically still in high demand.
No Bones with Jones has gathered that the 30-year-old goal poacher is sought by Motsepe League clubs, including Inter City FC, Grassy Park United, and Santos FC, among others, as well as Third Division clubs such as Young Pirates and Premier United.
No Bones with Jones spoke to Rygate’s president, Abdul Tajoodien, to clarify Awaldien’s situation as to when he will be eligible, whereby Tajoodien referred our website to his former club, Hazendal United.
Hazendal’s vice chairman, Graham Dirks, explained to No Bones with Jones: “Basically, the period of suspension, because we are in the third week and he already served a few weeks during the time of the playoffs, the six weeks is technically gone. He just needs to pay the R500 fine for his clearance, then everything should be sorted,” Dirks confirmed.
Both Awaldien and Abdur-Raaziq were found guilty of failing to attend the scheduled DC hearing without a valid reason or prior notification.
Both respondents were further found guilty of bringing the Rygate LFA into disrepute through their actions on social media, which were deemed inappropriate and damaging to the reputation of the Association.
