Damn shame as Modipa campaigns for Jordaan but fails to address Safa WC’s pertinent issues

Instead of using the platform to address pertinent matters that are affecting Safa Western Cape, its president, Tankiso Modipa, used it to campaign on behalf of Safa National head, Danny Jordaan and also discrediting and calling out his very own colleagues in the process

This is a damn shame!

In fact, Modipa has now lost even more respect and embarrassed himself further by showing how delusional he actually is.

The Safa Western Cape football boss was all over the show, from endorsing Jordaan for an unprecedented third term to accusing some of his colleagues of not being “bold” enough, as well as accusing others of trying to destabilize the province.

“It’s clear they’ve been given a mandate to ‘attack that one,’ Modipa referred to himself.

“So, at the end of the day, I feel very privileged to be honest with you because I’m well known in the country. Those who think they are doing damage to my name are actually escalating my name,” he added.

Modipa further rambled that he relishes and enjoys the ‘negative’ publicity as it does wonders for his profile, as everyone knows Modipa by now.

“They are putting me with people that don’t even know me now, all know about Modipa,” he couldn’t resist stroking his own ego.

Come on Mr. Modipa, just cut the egotistical nonsense as it is and has never been about you but rather about justice for football, as was the case of Santos’ reinstatement saga. which, mind you, was ruled by an Arbitrator for that matter, but still being undermined and not acted upon by your administration.

Not to mention the Sasol League Ladies’ issue with a possible contempt of court hanging over their heads.

This blatant disregard for what is the crux of the matter, and was ruled by an Arbitrator. cannot be ignored – it still never got the attention it needs. Why is this not the basis of the conversation?

Modipa also mentions during his speech that the introduction of the teams from the rural and disadvantaged background was to level the playing fields and give an opportunity and access to more players and coaches – and this leading up to the election in early 2026.

“People now all feel equal and that there is no one above the other,” Modipa further added. “And that no one is colonising the other.”

Now, where is this common sense in the ruling of the Arbitrator to reinstate Santos in the league and Nedbank Cup.

Moidpa has shown his weak leadership and double standards on many occasions – but this takes the cake.

Clubs in all structures must all just down tools and not play until justice is served.

Just imagine how much players and clubs have suffered severely in all this, but the province couldn’t care less as it is not in their interest to do political and internal infighting with Safa CT’s and Safa National VP, Bennett Bailey, who has apparently opened the door for Modipa by Jordaan.

Remember, it wasn’t too long ago when Bailey himself had video clips recorded in support of Jordaan’s “good leadership” and why he should be supported.

One cannot make these things up, as it always has a comical way of playing out.

And from where one stands, it’s pretty clear that football will forever be marred and scarred by power and greed-driven administrators and politicians who have no respect or love for the beautiful game!
