YMO FC owner, Mark Slingers (pictured), confirmed that he sold his club’s Third Division status to Real Madrid Rising Stars from the Two Oceans LFA.
“Yes, sold to Real Madrid Rising Stars and I’m in the market for Motsepe (status) now as I can’t own both,” Slingers confirmed to No Bones with Jones. “I’m at a conference now and we can chat again sometime,” he added.
This news will come as a surprise to many as just last year in November, YMO FC, partnered with Rieduwaan Anthony’s Hanover Park FC (Second Division) franchise where the former was also based at the Downberg Road in Hanover Park.
YMO also released a statement eight months ago which confirmed their pathway: “YMO FC has officially joined the Hanover Park football family.The move creates more opportunities for local youth and strengthens the Hanover Park LFA brand.
“YMO will keep its own management and coaching structures, with owner Mark Slingers still running the club, but will now operate under the Hanover Park umbrella, including shared resources and sponsorships,” the statement concluded.
