Boebie says “objectives achieved” at Camps Bay’s annual B-Tournament

Camps Bay Technical Director and Head of Youth Boebie Solomons described the second edition of their B-Tournament as a “fruitful” event where “objectives were achieved.”

The Atlantic Seaboard outfit came up with this idea to create something special for the players who don’t always get that opportunity — the B-team players.

This tournament is for the kids who may not have made the A-team, but who love the game just as much. It’s for those who simply want to be on the field, enjoy their football, and be part of something meaningful — regardless of results.

The event, held at The Meadows in Camps Bay last week, catered for boys from u7, u8, u9, u10 and u12 as well as girls (u14 and u16 teams).

Solomons believes good relationships were built with other clubs where lots of learning and improving took place.

“Coaches now know where their players’ abilities are compared to other teams and players in the same ages,” Solomons pointed out to No Bones with Jones. “Now they know what to work on to improve their teams as well as individual ability.

“I think some of the questions they can ask themselves based on their experiences over the weekend are 1. What should they stop doing – which is not helping their teams or players? 2. What can they change in the way they used to train and prepare their teams?
3. What they can do more of that will benefit their players and teams in the future?” Solomons concluded.
