The legal dispute between Rygate LFA and member club De Goods Let’s Play Enterprises (DGPE) has been delayed after the association opposed the matter before the Western Cape High Court on Friday.
As a result, the application was not heard and a new court date will have to be allocated. Given the High Court’s scheduling process, the matter is now expected to be heard in early 2027, with January or February the likely timeframe, subject to the court’s availability.
The postponement means the parties will have to wait several more months before the case returns to court.
DGPE launched legal proceedings in the Western Cape High Court following its expulsion from Rygate LFA in April this year -allegedly without notice, without charges and without any due process. It relates to a spat between of Rygate and Chairman of the club, Kader De Goede.
