One wonders what went wrong and why it didn’t work out for Ayanda Patosi at Sea Point Swifts (Hope FC) – whatever it was, it’s just a pity, as it was probably a wasted opportunity for both parties.
Be that as it may, it clearly did not derail Swifts as they have shown they are still ambitious since the day they announced their arrival in the ABC Motsepe League.
This was also evident with the acquisition of marquee players like Ruzaigh Gamildien and Nuzhad “Scara” Pail, as well as former Zizwe United striker, Manelisi Ralasi.
No Bones with Jones has also gathered that Swifts have now acquired Malta Park in Observatory as their new home venue for the future, which is a fantastic achievement. This field is, however, not yet up to the required standard and will need some time to bring it up to speed.
This is also why Swifts had to operate like nomads in recent times since they were basically evicted from the Erica Park Sports Complex in Belhar by the City of Cape Town a couple of weeks ago.
It appears to have unsettled Dylan Deane’s squad as Swifts have not been at their very best of late and it’s probably because of a lack of a home venue.
Deane and his troops will this weekend make use of The Greens in Manenberg for their return fixture against Young Bafana, who beat them last week by 1-0 in Strand, only their second loss of the season.
This match-up is also the start of the second round, so there is still a lot to play for.
Lady Luck also seems to have deserted the newbie in recent times, but then again, you make your own luck in life.
