Safa Cape Town, along with its Regional Executive Committee (REC) will convene (10:00) at the Samaj Centre on Sunday (13 April) to discuss whether they should write off their debt – or not.
This meeting also pertains to the last financial report where it was uncovered that a number of LFA’s did not pay their monies. The Mother body will also release the report to the REC as to how much they are in the red.
The region’s financial affair was high on the agenda during their annual congress, led by President Bennett Bailey alongside General Secretary Reyaad Joseph as well as the SAFA CT Mancom and REC, in February.
The Cape’s football Mother body divulged this in their press release subsequent to the congress.
The release further stated that one of the primary topics under discussion was the Annual Audited Financial Report 2023/24 which was unanimously accepted by Congress.
It further went on to say that after a comprehensive discussion, it was resolved that a detailed report will be presented within 30 days. However, it is almost 60 days to date.
The report will outline the specifics of the bad debt and provide a clear motivation for whether the write-off should be approved or rejected.
Meanwhile, the region should consider that those LFA’s who have paid thus far must be credited for the same amounts as then that credit should be used as their registrations.
