Young Bafana Soccer Academy continued their impressive form in the ABC Motsepe League with a commanding 3-1 victory over Saxon Rovers FC at the Young Bafana Arena on Saturday.
Backed by an energetic home crowd, the team produced another confident performance, combining attacking flair, disciplined defending and clinical finishing to secure all three points.
The victory follows last week’s 2-1 away win over Seaside Spurs and extends Young Bafana’s winning streak to three consecutive matches.
Head Coach Rezaan Jacobs praised the squad’s character and focus following another strong display.
“We’re proud of the performance and the progress the players are showing. But our mindset remains the same. We treat every match like a cup final and continue fighting for every point,” Jacobs said to No Bones with Jones.
Young Bafana now turn their attention to a highly anticipated away fixture against Hout Bay United FC as they look to build on their momentum and continue climbing the ABC Motsepe League standings and Jacobs has warned hias players not to rest on their laurels.
“Even though this marks our third consecutive victory, complacency is our biggest enemy right now,” Jacobs emphasized. “Our mindset hasn’t changed.
“We are treating every single match as a relegation cup final, playing with our backs against the wall and fighting for our lives for all ninety minutes. In a competitive league like this, you cannot afford to take your foot off the gas.” Jacobs concluded.
