Spar Mookrey Group’s Rygate Cubs Festival draw done and dusted

The Spar Mookrey Group’s Rygate Cubs Festival is just that, a festival and not a tournament, so go out and enjoy yourselves, says Rygate LFA vice-president Dawood Johannes (pictured).

Johannes’ words of encouragement follow the draw for the 2023 edition which was concluded at the Rylands Hall on Monday evening.

Coaches, managers, as well as parents were all in attendance – buzzing with excitement and anticipation and eager to find out who their respective clubs will be facing when the Festival kicks off on October 3rd and ends on October 7th at the Johnson Road Sports Complex.

The event, which has been running for 12 years, is probably the biggest on the African continent – if not the world.

“I am confident that we can create a fantastic advert for football – on and off the field,” Johannes stated further.

“But in order to achieve this we need everyone involved with the Festival to play their part. All I can say is have fun, make new friends and together we can build a stronger and better society for our future generations,” Johannes concluded.

The launch will take place next week at the same venue.
