Perhaps the no-show of some of the members implicated in the alleged LFA breakaway-saga at the Mitchells Plain LFA (MPLFA) could potentially still turn out in their favour.
This comes after the president of the MPLFA, Gilbert Kruger (pictured centre), suggested that leniency would be shown to them should they decide to come clean.
Kruger and his disciplinary committee were to hold an inquiry on Monday (6 November) with the implicated members but some did not pitch.
Tafelzucht’s chairman Kenny Hendricks, along with his other co-accused Ismail Du Toit (Westridge FC), Dion Warner (Cedar Park), Granville Solomons (Red Rovers), Nino Solomons, (Rock-A-fellas) and Gerald Cookson (Kenpark United) are all singled out to be at the forefront of orchestrating a potential breakaway from the MPLFA to form another (third) LFA.
Mitchells Plain already has the MPLFA and Mitchells Plain Football District.
Kruger has constantly stated that the matter needs to be resolved soonest as it is dragging on for too long.
“Once again I appeal to the members implicated to take this opportunity to come forward and state their respective roles in the alleged breakaway,” Kruger told our website.
“I can assure them it will really be in their best interests to do so as they could possibly come off with a much lighter sentence.
“If not, they will face the full consequences and that could be catastrophic for them in the long run. So, guys, the opportunity is there for you to do the right thing, otherwise you will have to take what is coming your way – don’t take it as a threat but just another reminder,” Kruger concluded.
