Hanover Park FC Chairman Rieduwaan Anthony has declined his right of reply when No Bones with Jones enquired about the shock mass exodus of players his club is currently experiencing.
Our website posed the question to Anthony on Saturday if he could confirm if the stalwart-duo of midfielder Tauriq Dien (27) and goalkeeper Luther Jacobs (25, pictured) have left the club and are currently training with former Hanover Park FC coach Andrew Pequeno who led his Vasco da Gama side to promotion to the Second Division recently.
Our website was informed that it is alleged that payment issues between Jacobs and the club is the primary reason for his departure.
A senior figure at Vasco confirmed the news to our website that the former Cape Town All Stars duo have paired up with Pequeno again: “It is just Tauriq (Dien) and Luther Jacobs if they get their clearances,” said the source.
Anthony also chose not to reply to a question on whether his brother Shamiel Anthony will again be at the helm this season.
That said, it will be interesting to see which team the Brasse Vannie Park as they are known for will field for their Coke Cup Round of 16 clash against Tafelzucht (15:30) at the Rooikrans Sport Complex in Grassy Park on Sunday (8 September).
