Benna’s ‘Baby Brasse’ bubbling of excitement ahead of first Coke Final

The future of Hanover Park FC has never looked brighter.

It’s largely due to the heroics of their under-18 side who have been making waves in recent times under the mentorship of coach Benjamin Hutchinson.

Hutchinson had earlier in the year steered them to the Bayhill Cup finals at Erica Park where they represented the club with pride and great aplomb.

Benna, as Hutchinson is called, has now guided his boys to yet another milestone – their very first Coke Cup final where they will face Antalyaspor JPM Cape Town on 26 October in Athlone Stadium.

This comes after they dispatched Valhalla United by 1-0 in a tightly contested semi-final played at the Stephen Reagan Sportsfield on Sunday while Antalyaspor brushed aside Rebels FC by 3-1.

This achievement is equally as massive for Hutchinson as it is to his “Baby Brasse” as his side is called.

“Just making it through to the final is an achievement on its own,” Hutchinson told No Bones with Jones.  “It has been a tough road as there are quality sides in this competition, the very best you know.”I do not like the teams from the Northerns (LFA) as they play the same type of soccer as we do, you know.  In your face all the time and they can play.

It was a technical game but a very good one. And to make it to the final is testament to the hard work and commitment shown by the boys in this competition,” he added.

Hutchinson also pointed out that their fantastic cup run in this prestigious competition could not have been possible without the support of their chairman and their passionate fans.

“We owe it to them as well as they have been with us all the way,” he further added. “We appeal to our fans to come out in their numbers for the final and help us get over the line,” Hutchinson concluded.
