‘Brasse Vannie Park’s’ Gallant has “element of surprise” in store for Santos as he anticipates a backlash in return fixture

Any coach in the ABC Motsepe League can vouch that it takes a whole lot of thorough and meticulous planning and preparation for any opposition in the league.

But what if the same opposition is thrown at you in back-to-back games which changes the ballgame leaving some coaches with a bit of a conundrum.

This is why Hanover Park FC head coach Anwar Gallant (pictured) has alluded to the “element of surprise” he has in store for Santos FC next up at their Thornton over the weekend.

“Tough one to prepare for as both teams had a good look at each other’s strengths and weaknesses on Friday,” Gallant stated to No Bones with Jones. “One now has to plan differently which is not ideal but we’ll have to come up with an element of surprise, you know.”

Gallant’s secretive nature comes off the back of their narrow 1-0 win against The People’s Team at a wet and cold Downberg Road Sport Complex on Friday evening.

And it was a former Santos player Wafeeq Isaacs who was the difference on the night.  Galant also knows all too well that Santos would want to set the record straight – especially on their Thornton home ground so the Hanover Park FC mentor is in a way preparing for a backlash.

“Especially because Santos are well organised defensively by coach Bradley and coach Pikes and it is really difficult to break them down. So, I’m expecting a sterner task at their home ground so we’ll have to be at our best,” Gallant concluded.
