Yes, we can! And we did!
Following the cries and pleas for the inclusion of netball for girls at its debut Build-it Under-13 Festival, Build-it Bothasig has delivered and stayed true to its motto of “Yes, we can!”
Hence, Mark Sochen (with ball) is proud to announce that they have expanded the Under-13 Festival with the addition of the girl’s netball division.
“You were there last year and saw the support and enthusiasm from the girls to be part of the event, so we had to oblige,” says Sochen to No Bones with Jones. “The following schools are taking part this year: Bosmansdam Primary (soccer and netball), Tygerhof Primary (soccer and netball), Tafelberg Primary (soccer and netball), Woodbridge Primary (soccer), Curro Century City (soccer), Chameleon Primary (soccer), Wolraad Waltemade Primary (soccer and netball), Sophakama Primary (soccer and netball) and Silverleaf Primary (netball),” Sochen added.
Rest assured, the term ‘bigger and better’ will surely get a new meaning as Sochen has a few tricks up his sleeve.
Needless to say, the hardware store situated in Vryburger Avenue drive in Bothasig, has become an integral part of the community – not only in servicing the area of supplies and building material, but also its ability and appetite to plough back into the community and its schools it is benefitting from.
Build-it Bothasig – in conjunction with Kreolan Pillay and Safa Cape Town under the leadership Boebie Solomons and Dali Fekenisi – has orchestrated a move which will see some local netball pros and former national team members imparting their skills and knowledge, as well as assisting with the administrative side of things.
