Seaside Spurs new head coach, Ashraf Calvert, has broken his silence after officially putting pen to paper at the ABC Motsepe League club.
Calvert left Rygersdal FC – after a fantastic debut season where he guided them to a fifth position – to replace Gerald Stober at Seaside and to coach higher up again.
According to Calvert, he is just happy to be back in the Second Division.
“I feel have unfinished business,” Calvert stated to No Bones with Jones. “After winning the league with Young Bafana. I lost out in the playoffs and I haven’t got the opportunity to go again, you know. It feels like I haven’t really conquered the league and this is why I’m happy to be back,” Calvert concluded.
Calvert had successful spells at Clarewood where he won the Nedbank Cup and followed it up when he guided Young Bafana to a maidan league title in the same season.
“Assie,” as Calvert is known, also enjoyed stints with Rygersdal Ladies where he led them to promotion to the Women’s Regional League and a brief spell with TS Galaxy Ladies in the Hollywood Bets Super League.
