FC Cafda identify Hempe as potential new coach, Inter Africa Academy keen on Zizwe franchise

Rumours have been rife that Theo Hempe (pictured) will be taking charge of the new Second Division franchise FC Cafda.

This follows after the Retreat-based outfit bought the Second Division status of Battalion FC from Paarl.

When Balla, as Hempe is affectionately known was probed regarding this matter, he said that he is currently contracted to the Inter Africa Football Academy in Johannesburg and that is where his allegiance lies.

“It is a very sensitive matter and that’s why I cannot divulge anything at this stage,” said Hempe, a former Cape Town Spurs and Hellenic player.

“It is important that things get done in the proper and respectful manner, you know. So, that is all that I can say for now,” Hempe added.

Balla’s last coaching stint in the Mother City was at the now defunct Steenberg United before moving to the City of Gold.

He was also responsible for Milano United’s promotion success to the First Division back in 2014.

Our website has been informed that Hempe has now been identified as the (experienced) man to steer the Retreat-based outfit in the right direction.

This follows after the owner Ashley October has decided to try his luck in the competitive Second Division of Safa Cape Town.

“Look, we have a vision that we want to create a platform and more opportunities for the talented players and we are going to give our best shot,” said October.

Meanwhile our website has established that Hempe’s current employer is busy negotiating with Zizwe United to purchase their Second Divions status.

According to Zizwe’s manager, Mike Siheke, better known as “Bra Mike”, they lshould have confirmation by no later than Monday (21st August) .

“We are also talking to two other potential buyers and we will see what come of that,” Siheke confirmed to our website.

“We are however not desperate to sell,” Siheke concluded.
