Greenwood Athletic has been dealt a serious blow after its coach, Brent Raven, decided to leave the club just weeks before the start of the Hollywoodbets Third Division campaign.
Raven confirmed the news to No Bones with Jones adding it was “for the best.”
“Yes, we parted ways and I was going to resign last week already,” said Raven. “The league is starting soon and we still have not had a friendly so that I can finalize the team.
“But we parted on good terms rather now before the league kicks off and things go bad and then I will get the blame, you know,” the former Rygersdal coach added.
Greenwood’s chairman Noel Isaacs confirmed that it was “a mutual agreement.”
Isaacs said: “We are not going to go into detail other than saying it was mutually agreed to.”
The Green Machine is now back at square one and with the season looming Isaacs is fully aware that their situation is not ideal.
“Yes, but we have someone in mind. Once we confirm then I’ll let you know,” Isaacs concluded.
