Safa CT in pursuit of justice for parents after BT Academy disaster

It appears that Safa Cape Town is now hellbent on ensuring there is justice for the parents of the young footballers from the BT Academy who were left stranded in Spain recently – and rightly so!

No Bones with Jones has been informed that the region will send one of their best legal eagles in the young attorney Zolani Malibeni (pictured) to attend the meeting scheduled amongst the parents.

The parents of the 36 players, which included both boys and girls, collectively paid R1.7 million and is now understandably still reeling from the financial losses they incurred when what they thought would be an opportunity of a lifetime for their respective kids. to test their skills against the rest of the world -but turned into a disaster.

Hence another was set for August 27 at the Christ Culture Church in Paarden Eiland on Wednesday evening. In reality, this ongoing saga does very little to help with the trauma for the kids, but it is what’s needed to get to the bottom of this and to ensure it never happens again.

Safa CT has already interviewed some of the parents and coaches from the academy last weekend in Sarepta, Kuilsriver. The Cape’s Mother body also extended an invitation to Timmie but he did not oblige.

Our website understands that the region will have to make a recommendation to Safa National on the way forward following their engagement with the relevant people.
