Safa Western Cape’s soccer boss Tankiso Modipa has emphasized that there is a method in their madness for not communicating with the region’s clubs pertaining the fixtures schedule for the new ABC Motsepe season.
This follows after several coaches in this league have started to ask questions as to why the Western Cape is one of the few provinces that has not yet released its fixtures to clubs for the new season.
“We do things the right way and we have our reasons as to why we haven’t communicated, but we will communicate in due course,” said Modipa.
Meanwhile, several local coaches from the Secoibd Division in Cape Town are left frustrated with the lack of communication from the region saying they are still in limbo and cannot plan and prepare accordingly.
This is in stark contrast to provinces such as Gauteng, the Free State, Kwazulu Natal, Tshwane and others who have already released the fixtures including that of the lucrative Nedbank Cup competition.
Some clubs in other regions, such as Ethekweni, have already concluded their draw for their knockout rounds whilst the Western Cape is still left wondering.
Meanwhile, the debate over whether the league should be structured into one or two streams is also a topic of concern with the season just weeks away.
Our website has reliably learnt that the status quo would remain meaning that it will once again be a mini-sprint with the league split into two streams as the previous few seasons.
This leaves very little room for error and newcomers such as FC Cafda will have to adapt as soon as possible to first ensure that they retain their status.
