Justice has no price…but for Safa CT it’s pro bono

One cannot put a price on justice – but in this case, it’s for mahala!

This is the sentiment shared by Andrew Bothman, deputy president of Safa Cape Town, who has also been appointed as the lead figure to find answers pertaining to the allegations of bribery and corruption at the recent Third Division playoffs at William Herbert Sports Complex in Wynberg.

Needless to say the scandal has now spread beyond the borders of the Western Cape as radio stations across the country have also latched onto the story.

“Therefore, Safa CT has also roped in the best in the business to deal with this urgent matter. This is an indication of how serious we view the case,” said Bothman

This follows the appointment of a magistrate specialising in criminal law with more than three decades of experience in Sean Lea.

No Bones with Jones has been receiving some correspondence enquiring if the region has the finances to afford Lea as the legal eagle won’t come cheap.

Bothman said for now that should be the least of everyone’s worries.

“For the record, our finances are sound as we would not have appointed him if we could not afford him,” Bothman explained.

“Besides, one cannot put a price on justice. The issue here is not about how much he will cost us, but rather how he can assist us in getting to the root of it all and finding out the truth – what really transpired.

“But to ease everyone’s curiosity, Mr Lea has agreed to do it pro bono – meaning without any charge.”

Meanwhile the playoffs is going ahead as scheduled with the semi-finals tomorrow at the Rooikrans Sport Field.
