Modipa: We run the League, not a club

Zizwe United’s request to have their 0-2 loss in the opening match of the ABC Motsepe League campaign against Antalyaspor Cape Town overturned will come to no avail.

This confirmation was given by Tankiso Modipa, president of Safa Western Cape, following No Bones with Jones probe into the inquiry.

“Ai, That’s Zizwe’s problem hey, we run the league not a club, that’s their opinion I guess,” Modipa said.
“All the results so far are official.”

Meanwhile, Zizwe’s manager Mike Siheke told our website that they submitted cards which were not ready for our first match.

“We then wrote to the province and asked for a postponement,” Siheke explained. “We never received any response. We are still awaiting to hear from them, however we cannot react to Facebook results and logs. Once the province sends all of that and it still says we lost that match, it will only be then that we take it up with the province, ” he concluded.

The communication from Antalyaspor forwarded to our website pertaining the matter is as follows: “We prepared and carried on as per normal procedures for the match to take place. The referee team as well as commissioner reported to the match and allowed Zizwe the allocated time to report for the match.

“Our teams card checks were done one hour before kick-off as per normal, The referee team then blew the match off at the scheduled kick-off time and awarded the home Team the default win,” was the response from Antalyaspor.

As it stands and confirmed by Modipa, Zizwe’s 0-2 loss to Antalyaspor Cape Town in the opening round is captured and official.
